JACKSON COMMUNITY COVID RESPONSE

As senior centers, schools, businesses, and organizations adjust operations for safety and precautionary reasons, a coordinated effort is underway to support food distribution and basic supply access in Jackson, Mississippi.

The UMMC Surgery Department, Association of Women Surgeons, UMMC Medical Students, the People’s Advocacy Institute, Mississippi Prison Reform Coalition, the Boys & Girls Club of Central Mississippi, Strong Arms of JXN, Operation Good and Safe Streets, Bad Boys Tree Service, Working Together Jackson, the Jackson Meals Matter Task Force, and the City of Jackson are coordinating mobile food and supply kit dispatch and drop-off services during the extended service disruption period.

Food boxes are intended to support meal access, and care kits include basic household and sanitation supplies.

Individuals interested in assisting with logistical support or coordination may contact Jxnfoodfund@gmail.com for additional information.
